D&D - Feb 26, 2009
Jeff really got his balls busted today, from his admission to owning a Hootie & the Blowfish CD to his "D&D Super Bonus Points!" e-mail. The other guys also got their time in the sun -- Rudy told another court story (I sense a pattern), The O-Face tried to weasel his way onto The Biggest Loser, and Bill Doyle raved about a Henrik Zetterberg goal throughout the show. Didn't get a chance to listen to the show yet myself, but any show that mentions foot fungus, a naked Jason Carr, and a naked Yoko Ono is a winner in my book. Here's a recap from the O-Face at WSCX.com:

The stream of saliva is released in the general direction of the front of the mouth. If the mouth is open the jet may project several feet. Gleeking may occur spontaneously due to accidental tongue pressure on the sublingual gland while talking, eating, yawning, or cleaning the teeth. 2. RACIST POLITICAL CARTOON? (link) - The New York Post is standing behind a cartoon that some have interpreted as comparing President Barack Obama to a violent chimpanzee gunned down by police. The cartoon in Wednesday’s Post by Sean Delonas shows two police officers standing over the body of a bullet-riddled chimp. One of the officers says the other, "They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill." Click here to read the full article. Lotta talk about cars today with yesterday's big news from GM & Chrysler. Other than that, it was just a normal Wednesday morning filled with four hours of D&D humor. Here's some highlights, courtesy of WCSX.com:

2. STEPHEN KING KILLED JOHN LENNON? (video) - Some excitement at the Sarasota City Commission meeting Tuesday, when a California man spoke out about who he thinks really killed John Lennon.During public comment, a man with signs who identified himself as Steve Lightfoot, took a seat in front of commissioners saying he wanted to expose the truth. He then went on to allege that part-time Casey Key resident and author Stephen King was the person that killed John Lennon.
3. LANSING MAYOR GOES NUTS (video) - The Mayor of Lansing Virg Bernero is apparently fed up with the terrible economy, and all things Big 3...If you ask a question 3 times eventually he should provide an answer? Not! P.S. Fox News now swims with the fishes...
4. CHRIS CHELIOS (podcast) - Chris Chelios called in to talk all things Red Wings hockey. No word yet whether he has a restraining order against Nicole Salem.
5. ROD MELONI (podcast) - Channel 4’s business editor Rod Meloni called in to discuss the GM/Chrysler situation…In better news the Mayan Calendar predicts the end of the world in 2012...Party on...
6. VANITY TAGS (podcast) - Ever see a GENUINELY clever vanity license plate? No? Well that’s probably because all the good ones have been banned. D and D review a very long list of vanity license plates that you are NOT allowed to have.
7. "SEXTING"? (podcast) - Teens that send eachother "suggestive" photos via text message might end up getting alot more than they bargained for- that includes child porn charges.
8. ATTACK OF THE CHIMP (podcast) - D&D played the 911 call from the woman who’s friend was attacked by a chimp! Dr. Zaius is gunned down after the beating...
9. JIM O'BRIEN WANTS A NICKNAME (picture) - Right at the end of the show, we learned that Jim O'Brien's jealousy of Bill Tortarello's nickname knows no bounds...

Highlight of today's show was the "Where Are They Now?-esque" interview with Beaver from Hour 2. Other than the chat with Beaver, here's a rundown of some of today's topics from the D&D website:

3. D&D CAMP OUT FOR KIDS / NICOLE & LINGERIE - While D and D will be camping out to raise money for the Children’s Leukemia Fund. The lovely Nicole Salem will be doing her part to raise money for CLF as well. In sexy lingerie.
4. STAR TREK EXHIBIT - An exhibit dedicated to Star Trek will debut at the Detroit Science Center. D and D got the chance to talk to local Star Trek group member, Jan Pawlik.
5. MANLY PETS - D and D review a top 10 list of pets that are considered “manly” to own. Sorry, teacup chihuahuas did NOT make the list.
6. MEETING FAMOUS PEOPLE - With more movies being shot in Michigan tons of famous people have been spotted...Who have you run into at the local party store?
7. WHERE'S DA BEAVER? - Former producer Beaver from our old station checked in to talk to the guys...We still have no idea where Jimmy Hoffa’s body is located...

D&D - Feb 9, 2009
Good news and bad news today. Bad news #1, if anyone cares -- no more summaries, I won't have the time any more. If anyone else wants to write up anything, let me know (either leave a comment here or e-mail me), otherwise I'll just copy / paste from the 'CSX website. Good news #1, we got some extra D&D today -- the songs that are normally played during the 9 o'clock hour were replaced with the in-studio performance from Dave Mason. Also, the show went a little long and a few extra calls were taken while Karen Savelly was setting up. Bad news #2 -- none of us here were aware of this and didn't plan to record far past 10:00. The first source I was given this morning cut off at about 10:07 -- I'll check throughout the day to see if anyone else might have caught the end of the show.
(UPDATE: Unfortunately none of my sources taped longer than 10:07, so the end of today's show is gone into the abyss just like the first 45 mins from their first show on WCSX...)-:

Weekly update from D&D - The D-List (video from 2/3/09)
Another laid-back, funny Friday show featured a couple lists, a challenge, a game, and a few interviews. Callers tried to guess items on a list of the top ten filthiest jobs (H1), and the guys ran through a list of the top ten old-school arcade games (H1). Jim O'Brien won a bet with Jeff over mistaken identity sex (H2), inspired by a fat teacher tricking one of her students into sex, and later "Louie Anderson" joined the crew in the studio for a game of Dysfunctional Family Feud (H4). Kathy and Rose from Real Style, a casting agency for movie extras, also stopped by (H3), while Gary Graff of the Oakland Press called in to talk about the Grammys (H2) and Tom Wilson, President of Palace Sports and Entertainment, plugged his upcoming Pistons Care Telethon, as well as other upcoming Palace events (H3).
A few soundclips were played as well, including one from last night's episode of The Office (H3), a Sully Sullenberger / Christian Bale mashup (H2), and an Afroman parody song about Michael Phelps from a Toronto radio station morning show (H3). Other topics included Kwame's new possible radio job (H1), "hot and dumb" Nicole taking her dog into a store (H1), and a discussion about eating baby food and snausages (H3).
NOTE: There's a gap in the audio during the interview with Gary Graff in Hour 2 -- I might be able to get another audio source tonight, so I'll try to fix it if I can.

D&D - Feb 3, 2009
Many mentions of Kwame Kilpatrick on today's show (on a side note, one of the things I like the most about the D&D Show is that the few political discussions, bloviations, debates or screaming matches they have are rarely about anything other than local Detroit politics). The Free Press' M.L. Elrick came on the show to discuss the Thug Mayor's release from prison (H3) and his new bodyguards from the Nation of Islam (H1). WXYZ's Steve Wilson was also scheduled to call in but, like Ian Anderson before him, he stood up D&D.
The details for the D&D Camp Out For Kids event were released -- Jeff & Bill will be spending the entire Valentine's Day weekend together in a trailer (H2). Charities for kids with leukemia and disabilities are honorable -- unlike Nicole Salem, who earned a "special place in Hell" for abusing a handicapped parking tag (H2). Another person who has a true disability (clowncarvaginism) is the Octomom from California who recently gave birth to a litter (H2) -- as opposed to Rudy, who may only have a learning disability. He'd rather pony up for a big-screen TV with his magic insurance money than pay off bills (H4). The beating he took from projectile shoes earlier in the show now seems justified (H2). People who came across as more stupid than disabled included Michael "Cheech" Phelps (H2), the idiots who call 911 with a spoofed caller-ID phone number (H4), and the guy who called 911 while being arrested (H4).
Other topics of the day ranged from Rudy's gayness about the anniversary of The Day the Music Died (H1), hilarious TV / movie / radio flipouts (Christian Bale, Bill O'Reilly, Bill Bonds, etc.) caught on tape (H3), a new website for people who deserve to be punched in the face (H1), a report about Capt. Sully's waived library book fees and the online game he inspired (H3), and an amusing parody of the Snuggie (H1). Chris Hardwick from G4's Attack of the Show was interviewed to close out the show (H4).
Other than Kwame, there were a few more (positive) Michigan stories mentioned. There's a new film studio in Pontiac that may help turn Michigan into "Hollywood East" (H2), calls were taken regarding suggestions for a replacement for Michigan's current State Song (H2), and Ed Welbern, V.P. of Global Design at General Motors called in to report from the Washington Auto Show (H1).

D&D - Feb 2, 2009
I had a planned post-Superbowl vacation day planned for today -- I didn't even get up until after the show ended, so I haven't even even listened to it yet. Hence no summary today, my apologizes. There's no "summary" at WCSX.com either, but here is a quick listing of the podcasts they have up:
1. Michael Burgi of Media Week called in to talk about the Super Bowl commercials!
2. Mike O’Hara football guru joined us to talk about the Super Bowl...errr and the Lions...but more importantly the Super Bowl!
3. The Amethyst Initiative is pushing for the drinking age to be lowered to 18...What do you think?
4. Deminski tried to use his wife’s credit card to buy a computer...Funny thing is they wouldn’t take the card...He had to drive all the way home and get her to buy it! Epic Fail!
5. A film is being made about Michigan Urban Legends...We talked about some of the more popular legends...

There's about a 30 second drop-out at around the 12 minute mark of Hour 4 -- my apologies again, my backup recording source had some computer issues and completely missed the show, so I didn't have any way to correct it. On that note, I am looking for some help for this site. My schedule will be filling up pretty soon, so I won't have quite the amount of time to devote here as I did in January. At the very least, the summaries will have to be cut unless someone else would like to take that over. Here's what I would also love to have some help with:
Tapers -- Extra "backup" tapers would definitely help, whether you're recording from the online stream or the FM signal. If you would like to help but don't have any recording software, let me know and I'll hook you up.
Editors -- The show is much easier to listen to if broken up into hour-long segments, and those stupid "We'll fix your credit score!" and "Your tap water will kill you!" Internet stream infomercials get annoying quick if they aren't pulled out. Just as above, if you don't have any audio editing software, I can hook you up here as well.
Uploaders -- Pretty well staffed here, but we may have a future need for someone else to stick the MP3 files on Sharebee.com or elsewhere.
Writers -- I don't know if anyone even reads the summaries I put on here, so they're not really that important, it's just something I do for fun. I'll probably have to cut them out soon, but if anyone else wants to take over, let me know. I also wouldn't mind giving other people access to the blog, to add their own posts or updates or even just to be a backup if I'm not available to type up every entry.
A few more advertisers -- looks like the percentage of infomercials on the stream is thankfully going down:
