D&D - WKRK - Feb 6, 2006

--------------------UPDATE from yesterday------------------
We only have a few shows from 2006 left -- by the end of this week, every D&D show that we've been given or that we've recorded will be up on this blog, including all of 2009 and some of 2005-07. Fortunately (for our timing, at least), starting next week, Jeff and Bill will be doing another fill-in stint at Philadelphia's WPHT. This one is quite a bit of a bigger deal than the previous ones; they're subbing for the local Philly morning show host for seven days, from Aug 2 - Aug 10, from 5am-9am. This is the first time they've been on the air since May, the first fill-in gig that's gone longer than two days, and the first time they've done a four-hour show of any kind since April, 2009. We're looking forward to it -- maybe there's something long-term in store? As was just reported, we've run out of archives to upload, so this blog will be going dormant after Aug 11 if there's no more live shows to host. Michael Smerconish, the local WPHT morning host, has been doing a lot of TV lately, so maybe he's moving on up?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the only February, 2006 show we have; the day after the Superbowl was largely spent talking about the game and other related events. Jeff talked about his man-crush on Mike Tyson and his snubbing of Kwame at the Maxim party, the guys got in touch with Hana Lee, who never showed up to said Maxim party, Rudy talked about the game (and why he left early), Doyle bragged about his Superbowl party (and the model he met, Tye Warner), callers chimed in with their opinions of the commercials, the musical talent at the game was questioned (Kristin, a listener who was on the field with the Rolling Stones, called in), and some of the controversial calls during the game were discussed. Non-football related topics included a sad report on the death of a friend of the show, "Jay the Male Stripper," as well as Al Lewis (AKA Grandpa Munster) -- which led to a call-in segment using deadoraliveinfo.com. The Mohammad cartoon and its riots were mentioned, as well as Australian sharks, a Sun Devil without pants, and a French face transplant.
