D&D - Oct 30, 2012

Another day of Hurricane Post-Tropical Cyclone Sandy coverage, though it was a bit unorthodox.  Jeff joined Dennis & Judi for the final few minutes of their show (apologies for the few seconds of leakage from another audio source during this "show segue" bit--I wasn't expecting Jeff to come on so early) and Steve Trevelise hopped on with D&D during the final few minutes of their show.  Also, the station's radio transmitter went offline late Monday night, so the over-the-air broadcast was totally down until about 5pm and the webstream was the only thing available.  The phone lines were also totally down, so Jeff and Bill (and Joe V.) had to go old-school and carry the whole show by themselves without any caller interaction -- it almost seemed like a WCSX show there for a while!

Kevin McArdle from the newsroom helped out during the 5pm hour when he recapped his helicopter ride with Governor Christie.  Other topics covered during the show included Monday night's "Slumber Party at the Station," as many employees--with a notable exception of Bill Doyle--spent the night at the office (meteorologist Alan Kasper told his story around 6:20pm), some surreal updates on the status of Atlantic City and its casinos, and Doyle's risky drive home from work last night.
