D&D - Jan 12, 2009

Here's the first D&D Show of Week #2 at WCSX -- be sure to catch the video the guys made recapping their first week at the new station. The show today featured just one interview, a long one taped last Friday with Stooges front man Iggy Pop regarding the death of his friend and bandmate Ron Asheton (Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull was slated to make an appearance, but that must have fell through).

The "first week of school" is over and Jeff and Bill are back to doing what they do best -- talking with callers, ripping on Rudy and Beaver Nicole, adding their own twist to current events, and giving us all a little humor to start the day. Mentioned on today's show were dry sockets, beater cars, the Brozillian, the push to completely ban cell phone usage while driving, movies filmed in (or around) Detroit, the 2009 Auto Show / UAW protesting, pet grief counseling, the Golden Globes, and a preview of what should be an entertaining bit for later this week when Rudy and/or Nicole try to parallel park blindfolded.

The last part contains the show from 8am-10am, sans the 2-3 songs played as usual, but also removed was the repeat of the Iggy Pop interview from the 9 o'clock hour. Again, please patronize the D&D advertisers -- without them, there'd be no show. Commercial breaks are longer in this podcast, as many of the Internet-only "infomercials" were replaced with actual commercials. Here is another short list of D&D sponsors that have yet to be mentioned on here:

Roy O'Brien Ford (St. Clair Shores)
Rising Sun Yoga (Southgate)
ABC Warehouse
National Crime Prevention Council
Ready.gov
Change.gov (not really a sponsor, just doing a little manwhoring :)
Comcast
AT&T

P.S. I didn't forget about linking to those 2005/2006 shows I mentioned last week, there's just been an unexpected delay in converting them to a proper file format and filesize.
