Here's a neat (though short) article from the New York Daily News about D&D's move from New Jersey to Detroit in August of 1999:
WKXW's Jeff Deminski and Bill Doyle hit the Motor City air on Aug. 23, joining a station whose lineup includes both Howard Stern in the morning and Mancow Muller on tape-delay in the overnight.
Jeff and Bill seemed to be little troublemakers in New Jersey from what we can find:
- From the NYDN again, the guys got sued for making fun of a NJ Turnpike Authority spokeswoman...
- Another NYDN article states how Jeff was sued for calling a Philadelphia DJ a "lesbian cowgirl"...
- Jeff and Bill, like other hosts on WKXW, seemed to often rail against politicians...
- This is post-NJ, but the Central Michigan University newspaper objected to D&D's use of gay slurs shortly after they arrived in Detroit in the fall of 1999...
- And of course there was the famous FCC fine show back in 2002...from what I've heard, the tone of the show seemed to calm down after that incident...
UPDATE: Lest we not forget the Secret Service investigation of D&D during Clinton's impeachment...
