D&D - Mar 31, 2010 - Philly's WPHT 1210am

We're seeing more and more why the D&D Show on WCSX didn't work. The abbreviated topics geared towards the ADD crowd, the lack of call-in segments, the oversaturation of interviews, the too long and / or too frequent commercial breaks, and the "too many cooks in the kitchen" experience. The show last night would make a great resumé attachment for Jeff and Bill -- maybe tack on a segment about tranny sex or peeing in a Mt. Dew bottle to show off their comedic elements. We had a little less politics during the first hour than the last two times they were on WPHT (the Don't-Ask-Don't-Tell segment was the only truly political discussion), as well as a current topic that D&D had some history on (Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist "Church") and an associated interview, Sean Summers, the lawyer for the father of the soldier who was KIA and whose funeral was protested by the WBC assholes. After a short CBS News break at 11pm (a good way to go, as opposed to an in-show "sports update" or other distractions), D&D spent most of the second hour taking calls on rude toll collectors -- something their Detroit audience may not have related to, but it did spawn a great Jeff-vs-caller moment -- and a Pennsylvania hospital's decision to stop hiring tobacco addicts (by the way, as was pointed out to a caller, employer-based prohibitions on smoking and rising costs of health care were both around WAY before Obama was elected). Topics to end the show included sex addiction and dog fighting.
