D&D - Mar 31, 2009

Not sure what was up with the Internet stream yesterday, but it's back to "normal" today -- which means the infomercials are back. Easier to edit, but less "true" D&D sponsors make it into the recordings. Oh well, c'est la vie. Hopefully this March Bandness contest will be over soon and the amount of music D&D play will go down again. Or maybe I'm only saying that because my bracket sucks.

The guys also played a few clips from Obama's auto-related press conference yesterday -- clips they considered "boring" but yet not too boring to play on-air. Why would you trust someone enough to vote for them, but not trust them enough to have faith in their tough decisions? And did a caller seriously say that "This president's goal is to bust the unions?" The same president who endorses the Employee Free Choice Act and nominated pro-labor Hilda Solis as Labor Secretary? You've got to be fucking kidding me. Was she trying to call into Rush Limbaugh and dialed WCSX by mistake? D&D would do good to shy away from politics and they always have in the past, largely because it draws out the stupid in people. WCSX.com has a bit more on today's show:

1. STATE OF THE SHOW (podcast) - You have heard of the State of the Union? Perhaps the State of the State? Well this is the "State of the Show." D&D encouranged listeners to call in with their oppinions of how they like the show so far. Not surprisingly, fans have REALLY missed D&D...and making fun of Rudy and Nicole.
2. TOM LEWAND (podcast) - Tom Lewand called in to talk about how Ford Field is being transformed for the Final Four. Since tickets cost about $2500, it’s safe to say that fans can expect a killer experience.
3. NAME THAT TUNE...ON RUDY’S TEETH (podcast) - Aside from being assistant producer and phone screener for the D&D show, Rudy is also a talented musician. He can tap out a tune with his teeth - can you guess the song?
4. FREE PRESS AND DETROIT NEWS (podcast) - The Free Press and Detroit News will now only be delivering twice a week. Will you be heading up to the store to get your morning paper? Reading it online? Or maybe, not reading the paper anymore at all...
5. JEFF NEEDS THERAPY (podcast) - Well...we already knew that. Actually, it’s PHYSICAL therapy he needs for an injured shoulder. Apparently this will involve ELECTRIC SHOCK!?
6. This Week’s D-list! (podcast) - The weekly D&D Show video. Wonder if Doyle will have another seizure?
