D&D - May 27, 2009

I know I've said this before, but I'm so glad the Deminski & Doyle show is a secular, non-political, non-sports show. Couldn't turn on a TV yesterday without seeing something about Proposition 8 or Sonia Sotomoyor. And there wasn't even a Wings game to turn on instead. They'd better win tonight -- NBC's selfishness would push the start of the Cup Finals to June 5 otherwise. A week and a half off? What is this, the Superbowl Big Game? I'd rather hear about Gov't Motors' plan to bring in "consultants." Here are some more topics that were discussed on D&D this morning, courtesy of WCSX.com:

1. "SHOOTOUT" FOR RED WINGS GAME FIVE TICKETS (pictures) - Rudy in goal as D&D listeners compete for tickets to game five - reminds me of a young Chris Osgood (ummm...no)

We're having had a shootout with our own Rudy in net and the coolest part is Ken Daniels himself will be was here to call the play-by-play. Will did anyone get past Rudy? Will did Rudy even be able to stand up in the roller blades we're giving him? Did Rudy's dental coverage kick in yet? 6. PEEING IN PUBLIC / WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL OLD? - D&D rehashed a couple of old topics during the 6 o'clock hour and took some phone calls as well -- even if they have been discussed before, it's always good to give new people a chance to call in about classic topics.
7. EASTERN/WESTERN CONFERENCE SHOOTOUT WITH RUDY! (podcast) - Listeners were divided into 2 groups - the Eastern and Western Conference. With Rudy serving as goalie - each team meber took 5 shots. The winner from each team went head to head in a "Conference Final." The winner has tickets to see the Red Wings in game 5 of the playoffs. Oh, did we mention KEN DANIELS from Fox Sports Detroit did the play-by-play?
8. ERIN ANDREWS (podcast) - D&D got the chance to talk to Erin Andrews - America's Sexiest Sportscaster. Erin will becovering the Scripps Spelling Bee this week - and there are a few Michigan kids competing! (Also don't miss the Rudy vs. Listeners Spelling Bee from the beginning of the 7 o'clock hour)
9. SMOKING BAN (podcast) - A smoking ban in Michigan bars and restaurants has already made it through the House- and it lookslike it just might breeze through the Senate. Are you prepared to give up smoking in bars and restaurants?
