D&D - July 15, 2009

Molson Canadian beer bottles have little gimmicky questions on their back label, and I think I just came up with a new one. Answer honestly, would you prefer...every day to feel like a Monday or every day to feel like a Wednesday? A Monday once inspired a killing spree, but Hump Day certainly has its own torturous attributes -- equidistance from past and future weekend is the biggest. It also seems like time slows down midweek, only to accelerate again as the end of the week approaches, as if the workweek has a tidal effect on the space-time continuum. Not that any of this has anything to do with D&D -- I still have writer's block and "loren ipsum" only works once. Topics from todays show included another round of Play the Numbers, a story about Mike Novak (D&D's agent) almost falling out of a 10th-story window, Jeff's Ed-Schultz-like idea for free WCSX ads, a list of then-expensive old electronic gizmos, and local news updates about the sad fates of Sam Riddle and Nevaeh Buchanan. From WCSX.com, Other segments included, but were not limited to:

1. ZACH SELWYN (podcast) - D&D Talked to Zach Selwin (sic) - Host of a new show called "Catch It Keep It." Basically, people have the opportunity to win some REALLY cool stuff. The players have a certain amount of time to either win something really cool - or watch it self destruct.
2. RUDY'S A MESS (podcast) - Rudy goes for a bike ride, and crashes. FAIL. Also, is it just us, or is it totally creepy that Rudy is going to go see the new Harry Potter movie BY HIMSELF? And what’s with the Harry Potter scarf he wore today?
3. THE JIM O'BRIEN TAI CHI DEMONSTRATION (podcast) - Deminski and Doyle Show producer, Jim O'Brien, once studied Tai Chi. True Story. He was even cool enough to give us an in studio demonstration.
4. RUDY AND THE JAGER CHALLENGE (podcast) - There is a new TV show called "Catch It Keep It." We decided to play our own version of Catch It Keep It with Rudy. Oh yeah - it involved the Love of Rudy's Life: Jager.

Here's the show:

UPDATE: WCSX webstream must have had a dropped connection around the 5m45s (about 6:05am) mark...I was able to get a hold of another source, but they had the same problem at about the same spot. I spliced in about 1:30 of lost audio, but there still seems to be another 1.5-2 mins that neither source recorded. :( Updated Hour 1 podcast is linked below.
