D&D - July 16, 2009

Glad I don't have to drive on I-75. In the spirit of Pete Hoekstra, I guess I cay say that we all know what the folks in Minneapolis went through a couple years ago. Except this wasn't due to government incompetence, no one died (though I did have to miss America's Got Talent), and an overpass isn't nearly as big or expensive to replace as a bridge. Other than that, it was all the same. D&D opened their show with a brief interview with Channel 7's Peggy "Sweetie" Agar about the accident and later spoke with MDOT communication representative Rob Morosi about the department's short- and long-term plans for the area. Other non-podcast-worthy segments from this morning's show included a baseless attack on Al Franken's Perry Mason obsession (click here to see who is truly deserving of scorn), an update on Jeff's "Recession Buster" contest idea, and a couple small stories about fetal & childhood memories and robots fueled by corpses and souls. Other topics were, courtesy of WCSX.com:

1. WOMEN'S ICONIC SWIMSUIT MOVIE MOMENTS (link) - Some bikinis aren't made for swimming (see Raquel Welch in fur or Ali Larter in whipped cream), and sometimes swimming doesn't require a swimsuit at all. Check out these leading ladies in their most unforgettable swimwear-inspired moments and vote on who’s the most sizzling. Did we forget anyone?
2. SAM RIDDLE INTERVIEW (podcast) - Ok...not really. But sorta. It sure sounds real, doesn't it? It is definitely believable. It's probably how Sam Riddle would answer those questions anyway. [Or at the very least, Morgan Freeman.]
3. ALAN PARSONS (podcast) - D&D got to interview Alan Parsons, of The Alan Parsons Project. Any bets that they mention that scene from the Austin Powers movie that mentions The Alan Parsons Project?
4. JON HEFFRON (podcast) - Jon Heffron called in to talk about The Jon Heffron Special, premiering this Saturday at 11 on Comedy Central.
5. BEST BIKINIS (podcast) - The Huntington Post made a list of the "Top Iconic Bathing Suits in Movies." Can you guess which ones made the list?
