D&D - Oct 13, 2009

Missing a chunk of today's show (last few minutes of Hour 1 and the first segment of Hour 2), but I have another source coming in this afternoon so we'll be able to get it fixed! The only big segment that didn't get recorded by my main source was the discussion at 7am about "musical memories," but it was podcasted (#4 below). Huge thanks goes out to a few fellow listeners who've helped us out the last few days when we ran into some recording issues. Personally, I think it's pretty sweet that we've got 99.99% of every D&D show from 2009 on here (on that note, I have noticed some expired links for older shows - feel free to leave a comment if you need anything reposted).

Today's show was hyper-infused with call-in segments. Along with the "slutty kids' costumes," "stolen valor," and the aforementioned "musical memories" segments listed below, D&D took calls on "Things That Make You Feel Old," Jim O'Brien's Star Wars anniversary gift, a British "inconsiderate driving" law, as well as some opinions on the swine flu vaccine right after they talked to Dr. Sanjay Gupta. News items on Mike Tyson and Chris Chelios were also brought up. 3. DR. SANJAY GUPTA (podcast) - D&D talk to Dr. Sanjay Gupta - CNN's health correspondent [as well as a few listeners afterwards]. Dr. Gupta will hopefully answer quite a few of our questions about the Swine (H1N1) Flu vaccine.
4. MUSICAL MEMORIES (podcast) - Can you think of a particular song that evokes strong memories about a specific period of time in your life? And can you recall the feelings and emotions that you associated with that song?
5. STOLEN VALOR - JAIL? (podcast) - A man posing as a soldier pretended to be a war hero - saying he was at the Pentagon on 9/11. Should he go to jail for that?
