D&D - Oct 20, 2009

Hey Mr. D&D Webmaster...if you're going to podcast 75-85% of the entire show, why don't you just do what some people do and have a subscription service offering full-show podcasts and other member-only services? I'm not sure if there are any non-syndicated radio shows that do this (and yes, I know it'd make this blog obsolete), but I think D&D would have the audience for it. They've been in Detroit for a long time. As I alluded to, the majority of the show was podcasted for the third straight day. There were only a few call-in segments that aren't up on the official website -- a Port Huron story led to calls on "dummies with guns," listeners called in song suggestions for the D&D Halloween Howl party, and Vic Mizzy's passing inspired a short "Name That TV Theme Song" game. Featured topics were, as chosen by The Folks With Too Much Time On Their Hands over at WCSX.com:

1. SAMUELSEN ON SPORTS (blog) - "Best Halloween Costume - 2009" and "A-Rod Gets Him Some Jeter"
2. GREATEST LIVING ROCK BAND (podcast) - Anthony Bozza has a book out called Why AC/DC Matters. He is convinced that AC/DC is the greatest living rock band...We beg to differ! [not the same segment as yesterday]
3. SHOULD A COMPANY BE RESPONSIBLE? (podcast) - Remember the case a few years back of the drunk driver who killed a mother and her kids? He had been drinking at work most of the day, left and committed this horrible crime...The widower of the deceased is now trying to sue the drunk driver's company because they let him leave work intoxicated...
4. NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE (podcast) - Dr. Gupta from CNN interviewed a woman who had a "near death experience." Jeff thinks this whole thing is crap, while O'Brien thinks Jeff's view is a cop-out...
5. NORMAN YATOOMA (podcast) - Norman Yatooma is the lawyer representing Tamara Greene's family...You remember Tamara, she was murdered following the alleged party at the Manoogian Mansion...Yatooma may get to review 36 of the more than 600,000 text messages sent on City of Detroit-issued pagers to determine whether they will shed light on her 2003 killing.
6. 100 MOST SEARCHED WOMEN ON THE INTERNET (podcast) - Doyle found a list of the 100 most searched women on the Internet...You will never guess who is number 1!
7. D-list week of 10.19.09 (video) - Weekly D&D update video.
