D&D - Aug 17, 2009

The Deminski & Doyle Show is once again no longer available live on an FM band outside of the Detroit metro area. Their week-long stint (trial run?) with WTKK in Boston has ended and, unfortunately, this meant the reintroduction of segment-bashing music. At least one of the songs they played was by Weird Al. I don't have so much a problem with playing a song by an artist who was just interviewed -- or who Doyle just gave a sleep-deprived concert review of -- or the whole "be caller 11 NOW to win tickets to go see THESE GUYS!" shtick. It's just annoying when they're made to play music to fill time. These guys are professionals who have done a four hour talk radio show for years, they don't need filler. Anyway...sorry to rant again. They had some good call-in topics today; aside from the "one TV bet" segment listed below, they also had callers revisit their first concert memory, admit to dumb stuff done while driving, and give testimonials on the Russian Roulette game we call the American health system. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (best known as Mr. Eko from lost, now starring as Heavy Duty in G.I. Joe) called in to see if Jeff could pronounce his name correctly (and sparked a discussion between the men about classic toys and dolls action figures), Michael Vick went on 60 Minutes as part of his Image Rehabilitation Tour, and Doyle is fascinated with a rat-eating plant (look out, Trevor!)...other topics from this morning were, courtesy of WCSX.com:

2. PARTY AT DEMINSKI'S GET'S OUT OF CONTROL (podcast) - Last weekend, Deminski had a party at his house, Nicole Salem showed up and as it turns out - so did the cops! And no, it wasn't because they heard about "Super Bonus Points." COLLOSSAL FAIL.
3. RAY TABANO (podcast) - D&D Spoke with Ray Tabano - a former member of AEROSMITH, before they made it big. Now he is working as a caterer in Yonkers, NY.
4. DOES ANYONE OWN ONLY 1 TV? (podcast) - Bill Doyle finds it VERY hard to believe that there is anyone left in the world that only has one TV in their entire household. Turns out - he couldn't be more wrong!
5. TAKE A SPIN WITH NICOLE (video of Nicole) - Join the vitaminwater10 crew with Metro Detroit's hottest spinning instructor Jimmy Wilde and 94.7 WCSX morning traffic girl Nicole Salem Saturday, august 15th at the WCSX stage area at the Birmingham Cruise Event.
