D&D - Aug 19, 2009

Pretty standard pop culture show today. D&D touched on music (another round of musical Play the Numbers and a story about the Beatles Rockband game), TV and movies (a clip from The Daily Show, a movie theater rant from a critic, and a Richard Hatch update), and sports (Nick Schuyler's interview on HBO's Real Sports, a funny Brett Favre montage, and a story about Lenny Dykstra's dog). Other segments included more Detroit-area "Missed Connections" from Craigslist, an interview with Dave Motoligin from Alex Motoligin & Associates Florists (today's Workforce Business of the Day winner), a discussion on whether the Cash For Clunkers program should have been more pro-Big Three, and a couple little stories about a family eating their dog and the new possibility of faking DNA evidence. Podcast-worthy topics were, as listed on WCSX.com:

1. RATS IN ALLEN PARK- OH MY! (podcast) - The city of Allen Park is having problem with RATS! You could call an exterminator - or you could call Nicole Salem! She keeps them as pets!
2. HEATHER CATALLO (podcast) - WXYZ Channel 7's Heather Catallo called in to talk about her report on the arrest of an internet predator in Howell. Scary stuff!
3. EXPENSIVE DOGS (podcast) - While many people choose to adopt their beloved canine pals from a shelter or a rescue - some people would rather spend an arm and a leg on their pup. Wait till you hear what some of these callers paid for their dogs!!
4. SLEEP STUDY (podcast) - According to a new study - 6 hours is NOT enough sleep - yes some people get even less than that! How much sleep do you get?
