Today's show featured a welcome tinge of liberalism. For example, topics covered included the new 230 mpg electric Chevy Volt (for more technical aspects of the Volt, watch a clip of yesterday's Rachel Maddow Show here), yesterday's Obama town hall (I agree with Lawrence O'Donnell, nearly all people have a lot more respect for the office of the President than they do for members of Congress), the 40th anniversary of the hippie-fest known as Woodstock, as well as a discussion about the traditional roles of men and women in the home. D&D revisited the horrible Killers' "Hotel California" cover from Monday and played a few clips of lounge act cover artist Richard Cheese (umm...your name is "dick cheese?" [possible NSFW]). They also covered a few local stories -- the debate over toll roads in Michigan, an interview with Joseph Longo from Warren Doors (today's Workforce Business of the Day winner), plus a couple Parent of the Year stories from Utica and Windsor. The tale of the tape looks like this...Rick Porcello is 21 and stands 6'5" 200lbs and Kevin Youkilis is 30 and stands 6'1" 220lbs...Youkilis not only did you get beaned, but you received the most "electrifying" move in sports entertainment (The Rock Bottom) from a guy 20lbs lighter than you!
4. KATE HANNI-FLYER'S RIGHTS (podcast) - Kate Hanni is an advocate for flyer's getting stranded in planes...Man does she have some horror stories! Don't you hate being stranded on a plane for hours with the terminal in sight? There needs to be something done! D&D talked to Kate, the director of Flyer's Rights...check out their website!
5. DRINKING WITH YOUR KIDS (podcast) - Some experts recommend you let your kids drink underage and drink with them? Where were these people when we were young? At what age were you allowed to drink? Did your parents let you have some wine at dinner? Is it safer introducing your children to alcohol at a young age? Check out this article!
6. JAIL OVER CHILD SUPPORT (podcast) - A man spent a year in jail over child support for a kid that wasn't even his! Has this ever happenedto you or anyone you know? You should have called Maury earlier dude!
7. WARREN MOON (podcast) - D&D spoke with Hall Of Fame Quarterback Warren Moon...Moon has a book out called "Never Give Up On Your Dream: My Journey."
8. RUDY'S PROBLEM (podcast) - Rudy just became a homeowner a few weeks ago…Now he thinks squirrels are eating his grass? Oh yeah, remember the friend who wanted to store a jet-ski in Rudy's garage? Well it's been longer than 2 weeks and the jet-ski is still there! FAIL!
