D&D - Aug 13, 2009

Mr. Deminski has not had a whole lot of luck the last few days. First he masculinized a female caller yesterday, then his attempt to have his nerves soothed about his son's errr...digestive issues this morning backfired, and later on in the show he recounted how the segment they did on Tuesday about the VIP hospital care available to Boston-area pro sports teams' season ticket holders was heard by the Greater Media CEO, in the aforementioned Boston-area hospital, where he is on the Board of Directors. Talk about getting caught with your pants down, Jeff! Just don't go all Ed Offord on us, dude.

Other, non-depressed-downer-Deminski topics from today's show included a couple call-in segments (about male babysitters and imprisoning parents for their kids' indiscretions), a discussion about artistic license in books and movies (edit 8/14: this is the article Doyle mentioned), a clip from the Daily Show of Obama "doing a Biden," as well as a a few short blurbs about a PETA protest against a new Adam Sandler / Kevin James movie, a Best Buy "oopsie," and an excuse for playing fantasy football. MARK ARMINSKI - IN STUDIO (pics) - One of the greatest poster and handbill designers of our time in studio!...he's hosting "Rewind After Hours: The Art of Rock and Roll" at the Henry Ford Museum NEXT Thursday - we'll have tickets for the event AND he's going to bring in one of his prints to sign and give away...check out some of his work below. 2. PURSUIT ENDS IN CRASH, EXPLOSION (video) - A police pursuit on Detroit's west side led to fiery crash and explosion Thursday morning. SkyFOX captured video of a pursuit Thursday morning as a fleeing vehicle sped down Michigan Avenue near Livernois. Trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle, the driver lost control and slammed into another truck before exploding.
3. DOGS GET OUT OF HAND! (video) - Local BC noon anchor Randene Neill tries to handle Ginger, a dog looking to be adopted from the SPCA. What ensues during the segment is pure hilarity. Check out the video!
4. RUDE CONGRESSWOMAN! (video) - Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee talks on the phone as a woman asks a question at a town hall event...Talk about rude! At least order a pizza for everyone Spicoli!
5. DOG ATTACKS (podcast) - Pit Bulls get alot of negative press. So to be fair, D&D took phonecalls about people being bitten by SMALL, seemingly non vicious dogs. Who knew little dogs could do so much damage?
6. LINK CHRISTIN (podcast) - D&D talked to one of the passengers that was trapped on the airplane for over 9 hours - even though the terminal was just a few yards away!!
7. NICOLE WALKS IN ON A GUY (podcast) - Nicole Salem is good at causing embarassing (sic) situations. This time, she walked in on a guy using a public unisex bathroom at a gas station. FAIL.
