D&D - Aug 11, 2009

We definitely had a nice surprise the last couple days -- D&D have actually been able to have a talk show instead of worrying about spinning a certain number of records each hour. The longer, D&D-esque segments are back -- this includes both the call-in segments (such as podcasts #3 and #4 below or a discussion on paycuts vs. job losses) and the intra-studio bickering and joking (á la podcast #2 below or this morning's arguments about post-sleep peeing priority, the concept of "plane prisons," or professional players' practitioners producing VP patient privileges). Other points put up during today's program ranged from a cross-dressing wife-killer, a mistranslation that ruffled Hillary Clinton, the death of the Governator's M.I.L., a bit of a Joe Perry interview with Ken Calvert from yesterday, a clip from Who Wants to be a Thousandaire, and something uninteresting about Olivia Newton John's husband. Podcast-worthy topics from today were, as stolen from WCSX.com:

1. CHEECH AND CHONG (podcast) - Cheech and Chong called in to today's show!! You can see them tonight on VH1's "Lords of The Revolution" at 8pm.
2. THE IMMIGRANT TEST (podcast) - Do Rudy and Nicole deserve to be US citizens? D&D gave them a portion of an immigration test. EPIC FAIL. We'll see if Nicole is still laughing when she gets deported...
3. INJURY BY FRIEND (podcast) - A funny news story got D&D talking about being on the receiving end of an injury - that a friend caused! Psst...Don’t be friends with Jim O'Brien.
4. SEX ON THE FIRST DATE (podcast) - Jim O'Brien and Jeff Deminski had a bet going - is it possible to have a healthy long term relationship with someone if you sleep with them on the first date? [note: listen as Rudy's mic accidentally clicks on and we hear him cuss out screen callers in the background.]
5. D-list week of 8/10 (video) - Weekly D&D update video.
